Meet: Ohio Junior Olympic Championships

Maximum Events: Swimmers can enter a maximum of seven (7) individual events for the meet and up to three (3) individual events per day plus relays.
Special Note: if you have more than the maximum 7 individual qualifying times for this meet, ask your coach which events to "remove" from your lineup - coaches will setup relays
Time standards: To qualify, athlete must have achieved a long course (summer) or short course (winter) "Ohio JO cut" in either an individual event or composite relay time since Jan 1st of the previous year. 

Qualifying for this meet:To enter this meet in individual events, swimmers must have achieved a JO cut in either short course (SC) 25-yard or long course (LC) 50-meter pools since Jan 1 of previous year.   Remember - you can qualify for this meet if you have a cut from either season! Relay qualifiers will be announced in the weeks leading up to the meet.
Entry Rules: Only long course meter times or short course yard times since Jan 1st of the previous year may be used. Age on the first day of competition will determine which age group the swimmer will enter for the entire meet. 
Entry Fees: Event fee for individual events are $7 per event (relays are $10 - or $2.50 per athlete) plus a $2 one-time swimmer surcharge: $1 of the surcharge goes into the Ohio Travel Fund to help reimburse Ohio athletes traveling to national meets, the other $1 goes towards the Site Selection Fund to help offset funds used to rent pools for meets.
Meet Format: This is a prelim/final championship meet.  All events on Thursday are timed finals (swum once). The top 16 swimmers in each individual event on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will compete at finals each evening. The 13-14 1500 Free, 10-Un 200 Free, and 11-12 400 Free will only be swum once, along with all relays.  The fastest 8 seeded relays on Friday and Saturday will be swum during finals. All relays 9th and slower will be swum during the preliminaries. All relays on Sunday will be swum during the morning session prelims.  Failure to show at finals, unless the coach signs a scratch form during preliminaries, will result in the swimmer being barred from his/her next events. Failure to show at finals on Sunday will result in a $25 fine.
Awards: Medals top 8 (relays top 3), Ribbons 9-16 (relays (4-8), Outstanding Ohio Male & Female Award for highest total Hy-Tek Power Points, Individual High Point Plaques for each gender for age groups (10&Un, 11-12, 13-14), Top 3 Team Trophies for both Large Team and Small Team

Admission: There is no admission to an Ohio Championship meet
Time Trials: Swimmer can signup for time trials which are held immediately following prelims each day.  Swimmers may not exceed the maximum number of events per day including time trial events

      13‐14 1500 Freestyle: stretch 11:40 am, warm‐up 11:45 am, meet starts 12:30 pm                                                                        11‐12 400 freestyle and 10&U 200 freestyle: stretch 2:15 pm, warm‐up 2:20 pm, meets starts 3:00 pm                          13‐14 800 free relay swimmers: stretch 3:25 pm, warm‐up 3:30 pm, meet starts 4:15 pm

Friday, July 20 ‐

       Team warm‐up: stretch 6:50 am, warm up 7:00 am, meet starts 8:30 am. If your swimmer only competes in the 11‐12 400 free relay or 13‐14 400 free relay you can come in at 10:30 am

       Finals: 3:00 pm stretch, warm‐up 3:15 pm, meet starts 4:30 pm

Saturday, July 21 ‐

      Team warm‐up: stretch 6:50 am, warm up 7:00 am, meet starts 8:30 am.  If your swimmer only competes in the 11‐12 400 medley relay or 13‐14 400 medley relay you can come in at 10:15 am.

      Finals: 3:00 pm stretch, warm‐up 3:15 pm, meet starts 4:30 pm

Sunday, July 22 ‐

      Team warm‐up: stretch 6:50 am, warm up 7:00 am, meet starts 8:30 am

      Finals: 1:45 pm stretch, warm‐up 2:00 pm, meet starts 3:00 pm
