The Mason Manta Rays made a impressive showing at the Ohio High School State Swim Meet this past weekend in Canton, OH. An incredible 68 swimmers qualified for the prestigious meet, showcasing the depth and strength of the program. The Manta Rays were represented by 46 Division I qualifiers (25 girls, 21 boys), 21 Division II qualifiers (12 girls, 8 boys), and even one Kentucky qualifier. MANTA RAYS SEND 17 ATHLETES TO REPRESENT TEAM OHIO AT ALL STAR MEET The annual Mid States All Star competition was held this past weekend at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, IN. The All-Star competition hosts 550 athletes from Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin Swimming LSCs from 9-14 years of age. City of Mason Manta Ray athletes traveled to Albany, OH to compete in the Ohio Open Water Championship. The 1 kilometer course in Lake Snowden held 4 races; 4 km (15&O athletes), 3 km (13-14 athletes, 2 km (11-12 athletes), and 1km (10&U athletes). All 11 athletes medaled earned medals (top 10 place) & Ethan Peyton was the champion of the champion of the 13-14 Boys 3km! As a team, the team was the runner-up Ohio Swimming Open Water State Champions!

Starts Clinic Helps Swimmers Improve Their Starts Thirty-five 14- and older City of Mason swimmers recently attended an elite starts clinic at the Mason Municipal Aquatic Center. The clinic was led by Steve Jungbluth, a world-renowned coach who has worked with some of the best swimmers in the world. During the clinic, Jungbluth taught the swimmers the specific drills that they need to improve their starts.
