Tri for Joe: 2 Summers ago Coach Mike set the goal for his Gold group to participate in the Tri for Joe at Coney Island. We had a number of swimmers, coaches, and parents across multiple groups participate in the sprint triathlon both in 2012 and 2013. FUNDRAISER FOR NEW ICE MACHINE & WATER FOUNTAIN IN COMPETION POOL: We will be conducuting a P&G "sniff test" as a team fundraiser over the next few days. We need at least 60 boys ages 13-20 to sniff some fragrances that P&G are testing and give their feedback. The tests usually take no longer than ten minutes. The 14 and under Mason Manta Rays concluded the short course season with an exciting 6th place finish at the Ohio Junior Olympic Championships. Going into the third day of competition, the Manta Rays were 81 points out of 6th place. By the end of prelims the gap was closed to 35 points. The Manta Rays were 15 points behind Upper Arlington going into the final event. After the backstroke was completed the Manta Rays ended up 7 points ahead to take over 6th place. The Manta Rays will be adding a new meet to the long course schedule for this year. We have been invited to participate in the May Wildcat Aquatic Invitational at the University of Kentucky. This is a closed meet, meaning team participation in it is by invitation only. The date for this meet is May 16-18. The complete long course schedule will be available soon.
