Over the weekend of February 7th-9th, the Manta Rays traveled to the famous IUPUI Natatorium to compete in the Jaguar Aquatics Invitational. It was a phenomenal meet all around for our swimmers; 324 best times were established, and the Manta Rays brought home the team title! Wow! We had two high point champions as well. Last weekend, high school Manta Rays competed all over the city at the Sectional Championships. Sectionals are the first stop of the three weekend high school championship journey. 32 swimmers from various sites go on to qualify to the District Championship at Miami University. Six-time Olympic medalist Rebecca Soni crashed the end of today’s Mason Manta Rays practice (via Skype)! As the older Manta Rays head into their championship season starting tomorrow, they were treated to an inspirational talk with the world record holder. The Mason Manta Rays have earned Silver Medal status in the 2014 USA Swimming Club Excellence program! The 2014 program results are based on performances in the 2013 calendar year. Clubs have been selected as Gold, Silver or Bronze Medal clubs according to the following parameters: Gold Level: The top 20 point-scoring clubs eligible for the Gold level.
