USA Swimming’s 2013 Speedo Winter Junior National Championships starts up on Thursday, December 12 in Greensboro, NC. The Mason Manta Rays will be represented by National group swimmers Zoe Thatcher (17), Sydney Lofquist (16), Hannah Whiteley (16), and Ashley Volpenhein (15). There are two changes to the practice schedule this week. The first is on Wednesday, December 4. That day the schedule will be as follows: National: 3:40-6:45 Plat: 4:00-6:45 Gold 6:15-8:30 p.m. Bronze: 7:15-9:00 p.m. Blue: 6:15-7:45 p.m. Green: 5:45-6:45 p.m. White: 5:00-6:00 p.m. Pups: 4:30-5:15 p.m The second change is on Saturday, December 7 when there will be no practices (except National 3-5) due to a high school swim meet. Twenty-six Manta Rays headed to Indianapolis, IN this weekend to participate in the IMXtreme Games at IUPUI. The team captured a second place finish and walked away with twenty individual awards. The IMXtreme Games awards individuals on their total IMX score for the meet versus awarding each individual event. In order to be eligible for this meet swimmers needed to acquire an IMX score of at least 1500 over the past year. Freshman players Camille Nguyen and Caroline Wolf (Platinum/Varsity) and Senior players Megan Wolf, Maureen Sullivan, and Maddie Franzoni (National) competed and helped win the first ever State Water Polo Title in the teamýs 10 year history at Mason City Schools.ý On October 26, 2013, the girls competed against rival school Sycamore defeating them 11-7 for an overall season 34-7. ý
