Swim Fit Swimmer Ria Parikh, her mom, Swati, and her brother were involved in a serious car accident on Thursday. Her brother and mom were both released from the hospital already, but Ria will be there for a couple of weeks. She has a few fractures and is having trouble moving the right side of her body. USA SWIMMING SELECTS MANTA RAYS TO VISIT USA Swimming selects a few select teams every year to visit based on past achievements and future potential. The Mason Manta Rays were selected for 2011. Scott Colby, a Sports Performance Consultant with USA Swimming will visit on January 25 and 26. There is no cost for this visit from USA Swimming. The consultant will work with the Manta Ray staff on various topics that include incorporating video into the program, season training, the latest in stroke technique, nutrition, and Dryland training. The Southwest Ohio Classic Swim Meet concluded following last Sunday night Finals at Keating Natatorium at St Xavier High School. This year's largest High School meet in the country featured more than 3,000 athletes representing 110 schools across southwest Ohio at seven (7) preliminary sites. Manta Rays Dani Barbiea (SR-Sprinboro HS), Zoe Thatcher (FR-Mason HS), and Austin Caldwell (SR-Loveland HS) fought their way through their local preliminary sites in the morning, and headed to St. X HS for finals at night, winning gold in this fast mid-season and unrested meet....
